Hello photographers! EventswithDakota is going back to the Old School in Shenandoah, PA. The last event at the JW Cooper School was so successful that I knew I had to create another event as soon as the weather warmed up. The only issue about the event in September is that it was too short! This location is AMAZING! There’s so much to explore and photograph. I also didn’t want to wait until the summertime because there is no air conditioning in most of the spaces and it can get quite warm during the summer months. So! This will be a full, 8 hour event in mid May. For those that are unfamiliar with the location, it is a very large space with multiple rooms to explore. Check out the photos below to get an idea of the space! There is a working bathroom and one air conditioned room as well. No official lunch will be offered during this event however, there will be some drinks provided for everyone and a bunch of snacks in case people forget to bring their own and get hungry or thirsty. It is recommended you pack your own lunch with your own dietary needs in mind.

We will have three models for this event, posing separately and together. We will first start off by splitting up into smaller groups and rotating the photographer groups, then rotating the models once everyone has gotten a chance to photograph the sets each model is in. Towards the last hour and a half/two hours, we will have all models posing together with art figure and then soft, emotive clothing.

Both Katriella and I (Dakota) have experience posing at this location. Katriella is a very flexible, strong model who can create very unique art poses with her figure, and Porcupine Por is also an excellent art nude model as well as an amazing stylist and fashion model. This event will be a mixture of fashion and art figure and I feel all three models can flawlessly execute really great ideas within each genre. I (Dakota), as the organizer and one of the models, am also well versed in art figure posing an will be bringing some beautiful wardrobe for the location- everything from designer dresses to some creepier looks that will work really well with the look of the space. We will have really fun concepts and I’m so excited to help photographers create amazing images in this super cool space! You are also welcome to bring your own wardrobe ideas! Please email me at msdakotalee@gmail.com with any wardrobe ideas you may have.

This will be an 8 hour event, starting at 10:00 am and going until 6:00 pm. The first hour will be everyone coming in, getting their bearings, making introductions, splitting up into groups, running exposure tests, etc. This will be a predominantly natural light event but I will be bringing vflats and reflectors. You are welcome to bring your own lighting, as long as you do not interfere with the flow of your group. Each group of up to 4 photographers will rotate on a lead timer. The event is open to all levels of photographer, however there will only be light instruction from Dakota during this photo event, so knowing how to adjust exposure on your camera without assistance is recommended. The models are posing from 11 am to 5 pm. We break around 1 pm for a quick lunch break before going back to shooting. After 5, we all will get model releases signed, exchange relevant information, pack up and leave the location.

When: May 18th, 2024 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Where: At the JW Cooper Community Center at 39 N White St, Shenandoah, PA 17976

Cost: $385.00 for the 8 hour event including all styling, models, location fees and creative direction. I ask for a $185.00 deposit to guarantee your attendance to the event. The remaining balance of $200.00 will be due by April 18th.

After April 18th, deposit and final payment are not refundable, however, the deposit amount can be applied to a future EventswithDakota event in the Mid-Atlantic area and only if notice is given within 48 hours of the event start time. Full payment can be refunded only if we can find someone to fill your spot to the event or if the event cancels.
